In fact, I'm working on some 3D now with subsurf.. I'll explain.
I have attached an image with and without subsurf in Blender. The cube to the left has no subsurf so, it's a plain cube. The object underneath is also a cube, but is subsurfed, making/rendering the edges and object smooth, ie in this case a ball. This "cube" is subsurf level 2 of 6 in Blender. The object to the right is also a cube but also has subsurf, just with level 6 making it even more smooth.
This in-game graphics are very good, but where is the Subsurf/NURBS Factor 5??? Why did you go away from that? That what was I liked best about Lair, and would (probably) be the first game to have that. In fact, I'm alittle dissapointed, where is all the fancy stuff they have shown us from GDC, E3 and all the other events?
If people have PS2 games, they have a PS2. As said in the article, and what I said before, just unplug one single cable from the PS2 and plug in the cable from your new PS3. It's not like military training you will go through. And you know what, if your TV has several ports to plug in, the only thing you need is pushing another button on your TV remote. Unless you are so stupid to throw out your own PS2 of course, I don't see a problem at all, especially when firmware will be updated over tim...
